White bugs in glass and in water column

These guys have been bugging me fur a couple months now. Started off at the sand line, as a few white moving spots, then turned into a bunch of thin 2mm long worms in the sand, now I have thousands that jump into the water column during the day. It’s distracting seeing all the white stuff floating around

This is at 80x under my scope. Video sucks as it’s a hand held iPhone, but you get the point


Description from my build thread-

“Seeing 8 legs, 2 antenna, clam shell type carapace, possible single eye spot, cilia, ciliated leg joints. Green grey colour tinge, possible intact chloroplast like structures (possibly partially photosynthetic) . Carapace indented upon incident lighting.”

Nothing seems to eat them, they go occasionally attach to my fish giving me panic attacks, but I think that’s because they are sticky+ slime coat.

Any ideas?

Pods. Had same thing when cycling my new tank. Then after 3 months, moved my fish into it and General Iro, (my mandarin), decimated them and got FAT!!;Doctor;Doctor

Any id on species level? Because they look nothing like the pods I’m used to.

Those are awesome fish but consider adding a wrasse to your tank. It will have a field day chomping those little seed shrimp!

I’ve been thinking about it- not done stocking, just taking a break from constant QT. Adding more fish over the next 2-3 weeks once I complete some honey do tasks and free up time.

6 line is out- don’t like them.

Any suggestions? Mccoskers?

My personal favorite is the blue star leopard wrasse but there are many other beautiful wrasse to choose from. These are reasonably priced compared to some others out there. I bought two females last year and one of them recently transitioned to a male. I liked the look of the females initially but the male has grown larger and has this majestic green and blue look to it. It’s a really nice fish and both dance around the tank now.
