Hi,
I'm hoping you can help me out. I ordered a Squaretail Bristletooth Tang through my LFS. I got the call that it arrived and when I went to pick it up I saw a small white bump on the top of it's dorsal fin. I'm hoping it's nothing, but I decided to leave it at the store for a few days. Does anyone have an idea what this is?
Thanks

Is the bump cottony or fibrous looking in texture? If so it's probably Lymphocystis. Usually presents on the fin edges, but not always.

it looked like a little extended flap part of the fin from what I could see. it was hard to see if it had a fiber texture to it as it didn't extend to far out.

Here's some info on Lympho with pics. so you can compare to your fish.

Thanks! That looks like it could be it. I'll hold off bringing him home to be safe.
