I have some white chunks growing in the aquarium but they are most abundant in my overflow. Any ideas what it is so I can start researching how to fix?

Thet are pineapple sponge and harmless as well as short lived. They feed off of silicates and often found in dark/shady areas of the tank.

Thank you for the information. So they are harmless and I don’t need to do anything to get rid of them? Is there something I can do to prevent them in the future?

You dont but funny is, to alleviate the chance of colonizing, I use the edge of an old credit card and remove what I can
