Hey guys, is this white clownfish alright? It seems to swim in the top corner of my DT. I have two other clownfish a orange and black which have seemed to make a pair. I once saw one of them running behind the white but since it’s a 200 gallon tank there’s enough space. I noticed something on the nose not sure if it’s discoloring or something else. I was wondering if it’s healthy? I want to do a water change soon but want to make sure it’s healthy. If Jay has a chance could he take a look please? @jayhemdal #fishmedic Thanks guys

It sure looks like it has an injury above its mouth- not a likely spot to be bitten by another clown, but maybe they rushed it and it ran into something?
Clowns can be really sly with their aggression - while you’re watching them, they play nice.
How long have you had this one?
Jay

Sounds like intimidation from other clowns which often occurs. No reason to hold back with water change.

I’ve had it from the beginning with the other clowns and the tang. They were my first fish. The LFS guy said it was okay as they were diff kind than the other clown. When I feed it comes near the food but doesn’t seem to eat. I try to place food near it but doesn’t eat much, it’s been like this for a few days. I don’t know what to do? My other fish that are QT with copper have been there for almost 3 weeks. Can I take them, put them in a freshwater dip with just water and then transfer them to the DT? That way maybe I can QT the little guy with some fresh saltwater?

ATM I wouldn’t compromise the current qt for the clown. You’d risk causing an even bigger problem.
Try to separate the white clown from the rest, or even better, separate the aggressors with some sort of divider or with a breeder net.

In addition to putting it into isolation, try some different sized foods, smaller and after in texture - see if that is more readily accepted.

I will try that, thank you.
Quick question. My fish that had ICH have completed the QT with copper for more than 2 weeks. I don’t see spots and they all seem to be healthy. The one fish has some white clumps on its tail I think it’s lymphocytes maybe? Should I do a dip of the medicine stuff before transferring to the DT or maybe just a plain water dip before introducing them into the DT? Since I’m not going to reuse the same QT water, I don’t think I need to wait to remove the copper using carbon.

We're the fish that had ich in your display previously?

If so, are there any fish in your display that were not separated and treated?

I treated the fish that had ICH. The fish already in the tank I had quarantined before moving them to DT. These are fish currently in my QT.

Please provide pics under white light. Lympho has no specific treatment as it is viral. Also on copper, you want to treat for a FULL 30 days at therapeutic levels monitored with a reliable copper test kit

I'm still not clear. Are these new arrivals that ich was discovered during quarantine ?

The reason I ask is because if these fish got ich from your main display and the tank was not left fallow of fish entirely for I think 40-70 days, they are just going to get reinfected within weeks of adding them back to the display.

So unfortunately the white clownfish died, last night it was swimming as usual and this morning I didn’t find it in its spot and was lying on the floor. It didn’t have any bruises outside so the other fish didn’t pick on him.
