Hello, I have one clown fish with white cotton material behind its left eye making it pop out forward. All my previous fish and cleaner shrimp died about three months ago and currently I have new fish with no issues for over a month (I learned how to maintain the saltwater tank better). This tank has been running for over a year with anemones and they are still alive. This one clown fish was the survivor from the previous fish however, that cotton material never went away behind its eye. I tried using Microbe-Lift Artemiss treatment for 10 days but that only made it slightly go away and now it is larger again! The clown fish eats well and I’m surprised it’s still alive acting like there is no issue. What is it and is there treatment for this?

I suspect agression and fighting with tank mates have caused the injury. I have a damsel that had this happen twice, the second time it lost it's eye but it never acted bothered and has been with me many years since the injury. Old "One Eye" is the most aggressive fish I own and I think that she(?) is the boss of the tank. One Eye always attacks to protect the other fish when I have my glove in the tank, and I wear the glove always because it protects me from infections and injuries that happen from vicious fish wounds.

Welcome to Reef2Reef! If you want to lower agression you might want to lower the fish population as those damsels and clownfish are going to compete for being number one, (or just "One Eye" like in my tank?)
