This stuff has been increasing in density for the past month or so. It's very slimy to the touch, smells like low tide and over the course of the day produces rather prodigious gas bubbles. The tank is a 14g biocube with stock lighting, modified AIO filter: 1st compartment; stock carbon/floss insert, 2nd compartment; floss over two reticulated foam blocks over rock rubble, 3rd compartment; reticulated foam block. Return pump upgrade to MJ900. The tank was set up and cycled the first week of August. Water params: salinity; 1.025, Ammonia; 0, Nitrate; 0, Phosphate; <.25. Stock lights are on for approx 7 hours/day. Right now I have one lonely Narite, 2 hermits, a bunch of dwarf ceriths, 2 Florida ceriths, 1 peppermint shrimp, 1 porcelain crab for my CUC, and 2 ocellaris. I use only RO/DI and saltwater from my LFS. I went through the inevitable GHA phase, although my CUC pretty much kept it from getting out of hand, and right now I'm dealing with a moderate red cyano outbreak which seems to be receding. But this stuff just hangs on, but only seems to be on the horizontal rock surfaces. I don't think it's Dynos......
doesn't look at all like it other than the gas bubbles. I'm considering shutting down the lights, or alternating to longer actinic/less white for a few days to see if that has any effect. Can anyone ID this stuff?
