Hi all. A white dot appeared on my clown fish last week. Has since dropped off which was described as too big to be ws and velvet. Similar dot has now appeared on my purple tang by its scalpel. Any ideas? He did have hlle which is slowly reversing and his fins are slowly getting better. Again no flashing or scratching

Either sand (it happens) or lympho single cell but at this time, keep an eye on it. Either likely to fall off.
Maintain good water quality and diet

Velvet will be dusty with behavioral issues such as feeding, swimming in path of power heads and more
Lympho is larger.

What about white spot. Could it still be this or still to big?

Could also just be a mucus plug. I've a convict tang that will get one every now and again. Remains present for months then drops off.

That spot is too large to be Cryptocaryon (ich) or Amyloodinium (velvet). May just be a bit of mucus, could be Lymphocystis, unlikely to be flukes (they most often do not leave marks).

I would just watch it for now....

Thanks jay. A similar spot appeared on my clownfish last week then vanished. Theyve all been through gc and final 3rd hit of prazipro then transfered

If they didn't go through a full copper or hyposalinity treatment, they could still have ich or velvet, just that this spot is too large to be identified as those diseases.....I just worry that you might take my statement as "your fish don't have ich", and then they show with smaller spots later on.....

Hi jay. Last fish added to the dt was about a month ago now. This dot has only just come about. Wouldnt it have surfaced by now if ich and velvet?

They also went through cu then transfered to an observation tank for 1-2 weeks then transferred to dt

Velvet, probably not, but I've had ich surface as an acute infection 4 months after adding the last fish - it was obviously cooking along as a latent infection for some time, I just missed it.

Copper should be run at a full dose for a minimum of 14 days, 30 is best for coppersafe or copper power. Still, that should have offered some protection....
