White dots all over my sailfin tang

My guess is that he has Ick. You are going to need to treat the entire tank other fish could have it even if you don't see signs of it yet. If not treated you could start loving fish. I am not sure what the effect if Ick has on corals, hopefully some one else can chime in on that

If this a reef tank you will either have to remove fish and quaratine in seperste tank to medicate or leave him and hope he gets over it. I would not put any medication into the reef.

Stay calm, no jumpin about and stressing out the fish anymore than need be.
If he's eating, your in good shape, he can get rid of it himself without any help. If he stops eating or starts to just nibble, then use garlic X to entice him. If there are other fish in the tank, they are now suseptable to it.

If it is a FOWLR tank I would treat it no matter what. Don't take any chances. IMO the garlic stuff is hit or miss. I tried it and it did not work. So I treated the tank by putting the meds into the water directly and it worked fine. Remember there is not garlic in the ocean.

Use Anti-Parasitic food. Im Down in Miami, FL and for me theres no use for a heater on my tank but it got really cold the other day (50's sorry northerners) and that 1.5 degree drop in temp I had in my tank brought out the ick. Just 3 days of feeding a little bit 2 times a day and my 2 tangs were ick free. Im not sure if theres still ick in my tank or not but its not noticeable on my fish. Also my corals are looking great so it hd no affect on them. I don't quarantine because I don't have the space to run another system so I was also told by a few ppl that whenever you introduce new fish its good to feed the Anti-Parasitic so that $19.00 little bottle wont go to waste. I used Dr. G's Anti-Parasitic Caviar. Theres also a frozen one available. Not sure if anybody else is making them but check your LFS.

He has white spots all over his fins and some on his body. Please help

1,2-10-100?? How many spots??if it looks like you just sprinkled him with salt,,,, I'd be ready for a 2 month war with ich, at least 2 months! That means separating your fish from your corals and inverts for that time :(
You'll need a tank to house your fish and use some,,,, the more the better LR or media out of a filter to sustain your bio load
