As I was turning my chaeto today I noticed these white dots attached to several strains on it. Anyone know what they are? Should I be concerned? The chaeto isn’t turning white/dying it’s more like if it had lice. Tiny white dots that look like parasites except they don’t move. It has a bunch! I’ll post a picture but they are hard to see on camera.

I'm thinking sponges. They love excess nutrients like the kind your chaeto is absorbing. Only way to know for sure is to take a look under a microscope/scope.

Are they bad? Should I remove the chaeto?

Sponges are harmless "filter feeders" that usually present themselves in newer tanks that have not matured in their bio-cycle enough to handle the bioload in the water. They can be found in sumps, overflows and other places with lower flow levels.
