White dots on Macro algae

My apologies if a similar question has been asked before, I couldn’t find it.

I just added this red macroalgae from the algae barn a few days ago. Last night I noticed lots of little white dots and a section of very fuzzy whitish material on one of the clumps of algae. I had read about algae having the ability to “go sexual” and release builtup nutrients into the tank causing a crash, so I’ve pulled all the new algae out of the tank for now.

Any ideas if thats actually whats happening here? Thanks for the assistance!

The areas look like places of calcification, or spiroid worms, or the areas are exaggerated by a collection of detritus.

None of the above would concern me but I encourage you to contact the vendor for clarification.
