White fluff in mixed saltwater?

Hello all,

Every time i mix instant ocean with rodi there's this white fluff substance that accumulates in the can. I leave the can sealed closed when it's mixing/ heating up/ not in use. The power head that i put in there also accumulates this stringy white substance after i take it out of the water mix. I have to manually pull it off or else it won't even work. Does anyone know what this is? I just opened up my can and there's a ton of this stuff. I can't even use the water now. Thanks in advance.

mixing the salt in too fast can cause this, just go very slow with adding it in and do it in 3-4 increments over a period of 30 minutes. If you add all the salt in at once it is even worse.

Do you know what it is though? Why does that happen? And if it's the salt why does it turn to fluff? Im very confused lol

it is precipitation from oversaturating a solution too fast, most likely
