White fuzz on the rocks, maybe hydra's?

Any ideas on what this is? Growing on some of the rocks, and even showed up growing on the heater in the tank. Tank is a 75 gallon fowlr that has been up since the first of the year, and these showed up about a week ago

When I ran the last test on Saturday the numbers were:

pH 8.0
Amo 0
Nitrite .25
Nitrate 40
Temp 78

I did a 30 gallon water change and will continue doing weekly water changes of 20 gallons from here on out, but only have had RO/DI set up for the last two water changes. Tank has a small Clown and Niger Trigger, and a Lightning clown in it with 75lbs of Carib Sea life rock.

They do look like hydroids.
Can you try to get a clearer picture with a bit more detail.

Thanks, Yes I will try and get some more detailed pic's tonight, the colony is easy to see, but the individuals are really small and hard to make out any detail.

My first guess would be hydoids.Unfortunately. I would be concerned about the presence of Nitrite in the system as well.Definitely want to keep a eye on that.
