White growth on base of torch?

Hello reefers!
Lately ive noticed a white growth on the base of my torch. Can anyone identify it? Is it dying? The polyps have been extended well. Ive been treating my tank with vibrant so i initially thought it was dying hair algae but upon closer inspection they look more rigid and tubular in shape. They are not moving like worms. Thanks for your help!

Looks like a sponge. The Vibrant is or will eventually kill it. Along with worms, IME.

Hey thanks for your reply! Ill stay the course with vibrant, but the strange thing is i only started noticing it after i started dosing.

Perhaps it was there all along, but the Vibrant bleached it. Or maybe it's a species that likes whatever is in Vibrant. I used it for three weeks to treat some hair algae as my tank has been fallow and by the third dose all the sponges were dead, along with the algae. In between the second and third dose I added a coco worm and it did not like the Vibrant dose whatsoever. It turned scrunched up and stayed in the tube most of the time. After a week it was back out, but with noticeably smaller feathers. I have decided that I can't use that product in this system for the sake of the worm.
