Hey Reefers,
I was inspecting my fish today, and noticed a small white growth on the lower left corner of my male clownfish's mouth. Picture attached.

Anything serious? Been reading online, and most people had something similar but disappeared a couple days later. Should I just monitor for now? His behaviour has not changed. Still swimming and eating fine.

Thanks.

Let see if we can get some help with your question...

Is the spot raised a bit and cottony/fibrous in texture? If so, it's probably Lymphocystis, a harmless virus much like the human herpes virus. It will come and go. Best treatment for this condition is pristine water quality and a LARGE variety of foods + vitamins.

It is raised, like a pimple. It doesn't seem to look like cotton/fibrous. Will monitor and report back.

Thanks everyone!
