White growth on sand bed

I tried to do my due diligence but couldn't find any info. Anyone able to ID what this white growth-like patch is on my sand bed? And if so, anything to be done about it?

The center of the picture seems relatively in focus, I don't know some people get such good pictures without edge distortion from the glass...

Anyone able to ID what this white growth-like patch is on my sand bed?

It looks like it has some large holes/openings in it, so my thoughts would be an unusual, encrusting colonial tunicate of some kind like a Didemnum, Diplosoma, Lissoclinum, or Trididemnum species.

If so, it's a filter-feeder, but colonial tunicates can sometimes be highly invasive (sometimes even growing over and smothering corals) - so I usually suggest keeping them somewhere where you can easily control their spread (like on a rock separate from the rest of the rockwork in the tank).
