Hi,
I am seeking help to find out what this is that has began growing in my sump, and now made its way into the water column. I have posted a few pics to see that may shed light on the issue. Any help would be appreciated. Not sure how to begin eliminating this.

My tank is as follows:
Red Sea Max S 400 (Approx 110 gal)
Sump with no lighting but have added quite a bit of Marine Pure media balls and a marine pure block
90 lbs live rock
1" to 1-1/2" sand bed
The tank has been up and running for 7 months now and lots of coralline algae growth.
6 fish and just a few corals so far.
Parameters are Ammonia=0, Nitrites=0, Nitrates=4.5, Phos=.03, KH=8.7 , PH=8.15, Ca=420, Mg 1350.

Looks like sponges to me

Humm if that’s the case, I’m just afraid they will begin to block the chiller flow or the down pipe adjustment valve.

I would not worry too much. Sponge growth is limited by available food. Once they reach a certain point the growth should slow down.
