White House Fish Room

Go to Lowes and get a water hose adapter and put it on the end of the T. That way you can run the hose outside and make messless water changes.

That's on my list of things to get today while at Lowes.

Hung lights today

Also leak testing the plumbing at the vat.

Small drip out of one of the threaded joints. When I drain the test water out I will probably put a bead of silicone around the outer rim.

Did you use any Teflon tape on the threaded connection? If not that should fix your leak. Looks like your in the home stretch.

Yup! I always use Teflon tape on any threaded joints. A little silicone went a long way and I don't have any more drops.

I picked up an early Christmas present... Another 150g vat and plumbed it in with the other vat...

I placed some leftover ball valves on the sump (right) to control flew from the fuge (left) in case I needed to take the fuge offline for maintenance etc.

Thoughts?

Just a thought, but you might put another valve just downstream from the pump. That way if you do need to take the pump offline for maintenance of replacement you dont have all that water draining onto the the floor.

I have the valve that sits off water from the sump. Then I grab a bucket and drain the remaining water from the line at pump level, then remove the pump with little water loss.

So, vats are still filling as we speak.

Picked up 2 boxes of Reef Crystals and 4 bags of live sand. Salt will be mixed tomorrow night and sand added to fuge after temp is high enough. Then I will add the 2 bags of live sand I already have to the display and turn the pumps on!

Here is the final product of the rock work...

Lots of great nooks and crannies for fish as well as pockets and ledges for coral.

Salt and sand have been added! Let the cycle begin!

For kicks and giggles. Wife and I on a date night out to the symphony and dinner!

I know I know I know... updates are needed but I do not have much to report. My heaters have had a hard time keeping up with the fluxuations in temperatures so I have left off with ordering some clowns until I have enough heaters to maintain a constant temp!

I'll see what I can do in the way of pics here soon!

If I was you I would move the rocks away from the glass. I put the rocks , on my dad's tank, too close to the glass and I wish I never had. If you still need purple Monti, hollar at me I've got plenty.
