White LED flashlight for viewing corals at the stores?

Im utterly sick of seeing every store coral display glowing so blue you have no idea what the coral actually looks like until it gets home and it looks like something that would be in the trash bin 10 years ago.

My phone cant make a dent in the blue but is there a high power LED flashlight (maybe with a dimmer) that could be used?

I was thinking the same thing. The blue lights remind me of my club days. When the lights come on the ladies aren't has has hot as you thought they were.

I think you want a thrower with high CRI (color rendition) and a neutral color temperature 4500-5500 K.

A lot of the stores will switch on the whites if you ask them to. Not all have the capability but most that do will.

Of the many around me only two would do it, and now the best one has upgraded lights and its all a PINA to do it now.

I get being catfished by coral pics online, but not even being able to see things in person at the store is simply stupid.

Aren't all flashlights white light? except the night vision red ones... I use this one on a daily basis; bought it like 2 years ago and I can count how many times I've had to charge it since, zero complaints; powerful, small compact and rugged
...if you were lookin for a suggestion

Not really, "white light" can be anywhere from 3500k to 12000k. And the kelvin rating to color is different for different applications.

An 8000k car headlight is bluer that hell. An 8000k LED is kinda yellow white.

This is exactly what I do. I take my flashlight to coral shows, lfs, where ever I might buy a frag. I like to see them in white light. This is my work light I use. I have no idea what "color" it is. Lol
