White lines on new Saltwater Aquarium

Just changed my 65 gallon aquarium from freshwater to saltwater. How ever just about a day after I emptied the tank and changed to saltwater I notice white lines on the inside of my aquarium. They will not whip off with my scrapers. Looks like salt dried on my glass. Maybe dead algae from when it was freshwater?? Anybody knows what this is and how to get rid of it?

did you dump salt into the new tank and stir it in there? that's what happened to one of my tanks

also did you do a good vinegar soak to clean the tank? if not might be a good idea.

its fun but there is a bit more effort that must be taken.

Embedded calcium carbonate.....yes glass has small micro pores

Get a spray bottle and fill with 5% acid white vinegar

Keep spraying it every 5mins (keep moist) and it will eventually come off. Use a plastic head scraper and a nylon brush to scrub

I got those same white lines when I dumped IO into my tank before the stock was in. I figured hey no stock time to dump lol. I mixed it this time though even without stock so that would not happen again because I did not like the looks of it.

Agree with @skimjim . If they are like the ones I had on a tank they aren't really visible with water in the tank. It took a lot of work to get them off on mine.
