Hi

I have this white growth invading my tank. I’ve scrubbed it but it’s not going away. I was told it’s a sponge. Any idea what it is and advice?

Most sponges don't like direct sun light and reside usually under and around the bottom of the rock. Their structure has a ton of little holes in their tissue and is very porous. Can be white, yellow, orange, red, blue, black...... Usually grow rather slow.

interesting, it is growing on the sides of the rocks with lower light but appear to grow pretty fast.I been told tangs like sponges as a good source but mine are not digging it. What’s the most effective action to remove?

Really they will self regulate depending on light intensity and available nutrients. They are good guys to have as they filter the water column.
