Last week I picked up a PT from diver's den.. he came very sick and died in a few days.. was blind and couldnt see anything, or was so sick that he didnt care to move for food and bumped into the PVC pipes.. He had a few strange chalk like marks on his body that I've never seen before.. they were large dots and way too big to be ich or anything..

Well, I just picked up a replacement PT from diver's den.. this guy can see and he's eating fine.. but he has those same white marks on his body.. what is it? I'm currently doing TTM.

It could be something bacterial. Have you done a freshwater dip to check for flukes?

If you are already doing TTM maybe just keep an eye on them. If the marks start to get larger or his breathing becomes labored you might consider a rally bath and antibiotics.

Those dots look like ich but cloudy eyes sounds bacterial or fluke-related. I would start with a freshwater dip in a dark bucket and see if anything dislodges.

I tend to agree he may have a few things going on. Probably best to take the stepwise approach and treat for flukes, velvet, ich, and a bacterial infection. You could do a fresh water dip, followed by an acriflavine bath, followed by copper/antibiotics or prazi first (if flukes are shown in freshwater dip).

I guess it depends on the size of the fish. The dots look at first glance to be ich to me... then I look at the egg crate and judge size of the fish to be fairly small. TTM is a good plan.... the freshwater dip would help rule out flukes... the antibiotics are a good plan, but I would wait on those until a little time and close observation has passed. Monitor the spots and see what develops.
