So is this a good thing? Do they really breed in tank? Anything I should be concerned?

Nothing to be concerned about really. If you have hermits they tend to eat all the baby trochus snails, in which case you will rarely see them grow to adult size.

I don't have any hermit crabs at all in my tank

They are breeding most likely due to a temperature swing in your tank. Temp gets above normal = snail romance time

what temp swing you are referring to? 1-2, or less than 1 swing?

My trochus snails did this a few months back - now I’ve gone from 5 snails to more than I can count! They’re everywhere, including every sump chamber. They do get big fast too.

Trochus snails are broadcast spawners. They don't lay eggs on the glass like nerite or cerith snails do. Here is what the semen spawn looks like in my tank.

And in this video you can see the eggs in the water column. Watch to the end when I get them in a little bit better focus.

if your temp is normally really stable, in my experience even a 1-2 degree increase will do it. for example my tank is usually between 77.6-79 degrees. The other day, it hit 80 on a really hot day... boom. snail hookup time.
