White mucus on my montipora

Good evening guys,

I’ve noticed a white mucus on my montipora, I touched it and feels like tissue but not sure, also my coral stings sooo I don’t think it’s a good sign

I'm guessing it's the whitish areas under the colony. Most likely a sponge and very beneficial.
