White nudibranch's eating monti cp

Looks like theres already eggs not sure what to do? Been moved to QT and I siphoned what I could off but the eggs

any ideas?

I did a freshwater dip and that got rid of them for good when I found them on a frag.

Cant say I have expeiriance with a freshwater dip how long to I dip it? Its my favorite monti I really dont want to kill it thanks for the help

They'll eat any kind of monti - plating, branching, or encrusting.

cut a frag of only live coral off and give it to a friend, get it back around April or so.

Its been awhile, but I dipped for about 3-5 min in RODI. Towards the end of the dip I used a baster to blow the frag off. Double checked for anymore nudis or eggs then put it back in the tank. Next day the polyps were back out and I never saw nudis on it again.

Definitely don't give a frag to a friend. You don't know if there could be eggs on the piece you give them and then the infestation would spread to your friends tank. I know flatworm exit has worked to kill zoa nudis so should work on Monti nudis.

I tried flatworm exit...did nothing for monti nudi's. The only thing that worked was a melanarus wrasse. Stopped them cold...haven't seen one in months. Saved many of my monti's by adding it just in time. I lost some big monti caps...Terrible!!!

So its done basically? I just know theres eggs on it I cant see and I definitely dont want to contaminate any tanks of the few reefers I know

Its a 10 gallon so I cant have a wrasse im stocked on fish as it is

thank you though I will def keep that in mind when I upgrade

As of right now the only option I see is getting all montis out and starting over unless anyone has a tried and true method to getting rid of these little *******s my montis are my babys its a serious bummer. I obviously need to extend the time I keep corals in qt ive read all the posts "qt qt qt, youll regret it" I officially regret it

I battled them a couple years ago. You can win, it just takes time and dedication. I dipped them every few days in Revive (it's been a while think that's what it was called- it smelled like Pine Sol and is a Julian Sprung product if I recall correctly). While dipping them, I used a soft brush on the underside of the pieces/frag plugs, etc to scrub off eggs and nudis not visible to the eyes.

I noticed the nudis after my purple basslett died in my 120. I believe he was keeping them in check. I had not added anything new recently that would have introduced them, but days after I found the basslett dead, I noticed damage to my montis and found the little boogers on them. Good luck.

If there is no monti encrusted on the rock, should not be difficult. Weekly dips until you break the cycle. These are one of the hardest pests to eradicate. I threw away all my monti caps (common ones) fragged a few of the montis I wanted to keep and just dipped away. This was 2 years ago. Still have those montis I wanted to save

. These buggers are worse than aefw because they roam around the tank more so it's easy to miss a few.
