what color works better for a bare bottom tank? I have seen that people use both of them. Not sure what to go with ?

Both will get covered in coralline and I chose white because it will reflect some light from the bottom up. Could be just in my head but I think it’s a plus. Aesthetic wise black would be more appealing.

I have had both, in fw and reef tanks. I found the white reflects too much light upward, so at least in my tanks, it make everything look washed out, even in my FW tanks. I am much happier with black.

My preference is black as I have a black tank background. I haven't tried white, but my guess is it would show some more of the less desirable things (like diatoms, green algae, whatever) than black would.
