So I've noticed white particles in the water column. I changed over to LEDs 3 weeks ago and moved Powerheads and rockscape around a little. I also added a bio pellet reactor with Dr. Tim's NP Active Pearls at the same time. I noticed the particles a day or two after those changes. I assumed it was from moving the rocks and Powerheads but it hasn't subsided. Is this normal for the first little while of running a reactor? I thought maybe I had them before and the LEDs just made them noticeable. Any ideas?

have you notice little pieces in the sump? possible small pieces of the pellets? not really familiar with the pearls, but it is possible that they have some smaller pieces that have escaped the reactor.

Then it may just be sand particles from moving the rocks and the powerheads and causing things to stir up.

Alright. Thanks Chris. I figured that after 2 and a half weeks that would've settled down. Oh well.

No. I'll post the cal and mag that I'm dosing in the morning. I'm pretty sure it's kent liquid cal and tech m. I'm not on a dosing schedule. I test and dose as needed.

Do you dose them at the same time? you might be seeing it precipitate out in the water column.

I did about a week and a half ago. Normally I only have to some one but I did have to dose cal and mag last time. I feel like I remember that the particles were there before I dosed though. What can I do if that's what it is? I've never run into this before.

I really wish I could see them, but I'm pretty sure that if it were precipitate it would just go away within a day with the amount that you are dosing.

I tried to get a picture and video but the camera doesn't pick them up. If it is the precipitate, like if I dosed too much, how do I fix it? Water change?

10 months old. I thought about a pod bloom. I'll turn my Powerheads off tonight and see what happens.
