Hi got this frag today . And has some sort of white plates on it . They are hard and didnt notice in lfs as frag was open

shell i ripe them off
 
I've been looking at a Monti that looks exactly like these except it is a pale pink. Don't know if they are the same. Going to follow and see what others think.
 
Looks like some kind of algea but not sure what kind.

I think they may be Foraminiferans. Not my image. To be sure you'll have to remove one and break it.

Ok iv got one off they soon as i took it out of water it went more brown . Its only like paper thin . Was softish but being out of water for around 10s it became hard . I just snapped. Hope that makes sense

Snapped as in brittle like a calcium carbonate skeleton, I would say that rules out algae. I am still inclined to think Foraminiferans.
 
Ok just read longest article ever about Foraminiferans . Seems like it covers a world of things was really interesting to read . Seems like they don't grow much and some will move around . So i think i will keep them. There almost from another planet really .
