White polyp

Hey reefers, Does anyone know what this white polyp is? It appeared out of nowhere today.

Not like any coral I’ve ever seen. Probably a sponge

is that a good or bad thing?

Typically happens on new additions, not happy in it's current location or it just doesn't need them at the moment for stabalizing itself upright. It's common as they get larger as well. As long as you did not tear it off then I would not worry to much.

No I haven't touched it, but I noticed it moves itself. It seems happy, and more open than in my LFS. The colors are popping more. Even one of the ridges has gotten bigger. I have had it since thanksgiving weekend. I did notice the sand shaking/shifting around the clam few days prior.
