White poop

i have a fish pooping white. I think it’s stringy but I don’t know.

What should I do? Been going on for a week and I lost a leopard wrasse last week and those are known for internal parasites as I have read

If it is eating, use Food + Metro + Focus to get right into the gut to rid the fish of internal parasites.

My clown fish had for stuck to him for a bit. Maybe it came from him.

But he only did that once. Maybe the white poop I’m seeing has a little brown in it. Maybe it’s nothing then?

My one fish has been hidding in the rocks for a few days but still eating. He’s acting different as well.

If he is still eating I would go ahead and mix metro and focus into food and feed it. Better to play it safe. Brown stringy poo is still a sign of something you don't want.

Clowns are kinda goofy. They hang out all over the tank. Many times its nothing. So watch for yawning and gasping for air behaviors, twitching. If so, something is attacking its gills and you should start with a freshwater dip to see if flukes are bothering its breathing. If no evidence of flukes from the dip (small sesame seed whitish looking) then it may be a different parasite like Ich or velvet.

What you posted is exactly why I like prophylactically treating all my fish with copper, and API General Cure: its a powder with Metro to kill all internal parasites and a lighter dose of praziquantel that much easier on the fish and kills flukes and "some" internal parasites as well. 1 packet per 10.5 gallons. Easy. And it works.

Back when I used to breed discus, severums and angels (Yes they are freshwater), stringy feces nearly always meant parasites. No matter what color they were. If they were eating, I would put metronidazole in the food. If not, I would soak pellets in metro, then capture the fish and hold it in a wet washcloth and use a syringe to put food directly down the fishes gullet. It worked perfectly every time. I'm just not sure if your wrasse is large enough to handle that or if you will even be able to catch him. Either way, best of luck to you.

The poop from the wrass is large but whiteish. I have not seen a string like that video about attached to him.

Whiteish is not ideal. If the fish's digestive system is working unimpeded, it should be brown. Intestinal parasites can be tough to remove. Sometimes it takes more than one round of treatment to remove stubborn parasites.

And if necessary, and the fish is eating, you can dose the fish directly by mixing Food + Metro + Focus mixed together with a few drops of water. Stays good in the refrigerator for a few days. And it goes directly to the fish's gut = bullseye.

Awesome, good luck! I always do an anti parasite round if I suspect parasites. If I see fish flashing, I kill the lights and pull out the flashlight to look for velvet. That’s not easy on a fish whose sheen is already a coppery color
