White slime? Is it a sponge or a bacteria?

This slime is only in one place in my tank that I know of, and it doesn’t seem to be spreading. Tank has been up and running for a few months. At night, I see pods crawling around in it so I haven’t scraped it away in case it is somehow beneficial. Slime is right underneath my acan.

Looks like sponge. Good stuff in my opinion. Just scrape extra off if it gets too invasive

Those are sponges...nice collection to boot. My guess is that rock was turned upside down and the sponges may go away with flow on them.

@Jon Fishman @dbraun15 I appreciate y’all taking the time to check out my post! I’ll leave it be, then. I thought it was a sponge because it wasn’t stringy or spreading and had pods in it, but you can never be too sure! I’m new to the hobby lol
