hi ok I have a tank running about 8 years its a fot 400 gallons with about 13 fish the nutrents were high so I strated vodka dosing it took a while to get the dose right it took 80ml to get the nutrients down to zero then I stopped for a while the nutrients climbed back up so I decided to start again this was about two months ago I removed my sand to make mantinece easier anyway right now im at 140ml daily split into 2 doses and my nitates are starting to come down but im getting this think slime in the sump and in the overflows should I stop dosing? or do I have to add something to the tank to kill it

Manual removal is fine. It's a bacterial colony most likely. It could be sponge as well. But looks like slimey bacteria in the cup. Sponges should keep thier shape.
