I have a white slime that has built up on my glass and on all of the equipment in my sump. Is this a bacteria slime? Does anyone know what could cause this? I struggle to keep my nutrients up, nitrate and phosphate are pretty much undetectable. I dose

Red Sea AB+ everyday.
Temp 78
Salinity 1.025
Alk 9.7

Looks like bacterial slime like you suggested. I'm guessing from the amount of red sea AB+ you are dosing.

I believe it can be caused by too much carbon dosing, I had this and I attributed it to the nopox I was dosing as part of the Red Sea starter program. I stopped dosing nopox all together and it went away, but then I got gha everywhere a few weeks later

Hi,

I just waited it out and manually removed as much as I could. It was a chore and took forever. It’s actually not even completely gone and it’s been 3 months. My euphyllia corals started to die too. Luckily I have another tank that I was able to take two out of and save, but my hammer did end up dying. I did water changes weekly and would siphon out as much as I could every time. I wish you luck and hope you overcome it quickly and without any casualties.

Thanks for reaching out, i think low nitrates might be a problem that i see with people with the same problem. How are yours? mine are at 0.2 -0.5 . Keep up the battle and good luck mate!
