I have had him for about 6 weeks. He is a little guy maybe 3 4 inches from head to tail. I noticed about 2 weeks ago this little spec and thought maybe a piece of coral or misis shrimp got stuck on him but it seems to be growing, could be my imagination as its ALL I see now when I look at him! Is this possibly ich? No other spots or specs are visible anywhere else on him, trust me ive looked over him for HOURS!. Please comment as to what I should do. Dont want to risk my clownfish getting this! I do not have a quarantine tank, I would just have to get him out.

I'm waiting for others to chime in as well, but it looks more like lymphocystis to me? My yellow Tang had similar white blobs (not sand-like like ich) during QT on the fins specifically as well. I was told this was a common thing and that clean water was the cure. The white blobs went away after a few days after I took it out of copper and into my DT in clean water

Give it a freshwater BATH TO ELIMINATE POSSIBILITY OF FLUKES WHICH IS WHAT i THINK IT IS.

Freshwater bath? So just put it in a bowl of RODI water? And for how long?

I will add that it looks meaty or fleshy if you will. Like a piece of brine got stuck to the tip of his fin.

Small CLEAN container of ro with similar temperature as tank temp for 3-5 minutes.
After returning fish to tank, see if anything unusual like sesame seeds on bottom of bucket

Thanks so much!

If you do a freshwater dip it’s a good idea to use a ph buffer to get the freshwater as close in ph to the water your taking him out of

Ok thanks, I will have to get something, all I have is Alk buffer. Thank you.

For a 3-5 minute dip, I would Not worry about Ph or buffing the water

I recommend doing it at night, it'll be easier to catch him and less stressful too! I've dipped my hippo tang and yellow tang in RO water for ~ 5 minutes when they had signs of Ich. I was able to blow off some spots, started feeding them enriched food, and they quickly recovered!
