Hey all. As the title says I have these tiny white specks moving around on my glass. Are they copepods?? Also in the second video, what is that branching thing on the glass

I started the tank with dry rock and new sand. I have added two cleaner shrimp, two hermit crabs and two nassarius snails. So the only way they could have gotten into the tank was with the inverts I added.

Video 824 colonial hydroids (try to get them out: stop the flow completely in the system, and with very thin towel or another fabric (not too soft) try to wipe them at once, also with spoon or something like, take the substrate from where they start to grow up) try to be careful not to leave any single piece of them.

Oh man. They are that bad? What will they do?

they can spread everywhere in your tank, and will disturb your corals (if you have now or in the future), also not sure for all, but some are stinging corals and the corals can die.

No corals yet. But I definitely want some. I will try your method of getting them out later tonight.

you can use NEW scouring sponge, or only the scouring part of it (whichever is easier for you) but not one which you use for dishwashing, because it have detergent on it, very hard to wash it completely away, and detergent isn't good to have in the tank :)
Doing it try to take them out completely at once, not to break them on pieces which can fall and to regrow in your tank.

I think I got it all off the glass and scooped out some of the sand. Hopefully that will be the end. But I have the feeling I will be finding more

just watch your system, and take measures when you see them. Some of them are going away with the tank cycling
