White sponge? Algae? Fungus??

Just noticed this white root/plant lookin thing growing next to the rock in my refugium any idea what it is?

I definitely see some sponge in there. Some of it looks a bit stringy to be any sponge I’ve had. I wonder if it’s growing like wild fire or maybe something is growing with it. Any idea @KJ ?

Have 3 bags of chemipure elite in the chamber before that one

Not dosing atm currently tank onky has a few inverts

Hey

I have the exact same thing in my sump. 99.9999% sure it's a sponge and seems harmless.

Having said that, I left mine alone and within 2 weeks it had spread like crazy so i recommend removing it if it's in your DT.
