White sponge

Hi all,

I've got something that looks like a white sponge encrusting on my live rock. The rock has been in for several months, and has other colored sponges on it, but they all colored up within days and are growing gradually. I only noticed this one a few days ago, and it seems to be very obvious and growing rapidly. I can see a spot on the other side of the tank as well.

I definitely think I would have noticed this sooner if it had been around, since I frequently am looking at the orange sponge straight above it. I think it looks cool, but with it showing up and growing rapidly, those are usually bad things for hitchhikers.

Anyone have an ID?

Sponges can grow out of control just like corals. If you dont like it you can remove it or trim it back periodically.
