White spot/ich on powder brown tang

I know how they can get them so easy but I purchased one and to no surprise he is invited I gave him a freshwater rip for about 15 min put him back. But it just looks like he got even more white spots. It's a reef tank as well so I can't use copper to get rid of it. My freshwater tank I think may become a saltwater tank but I'm not sure if the tank will be ready in time to use as a hospital yang for a short period of time. Also I don't have the most money ATM. What can I do to save my fish or relieve stress

I also believe it is caused because of stress since I just got him and I just moved him into my tank and no other fish has ever got inch in my tank

That looks like it could be velvet. Yes, you'll want to remove all the fish and treat them with copper. asap

+2 Agree, looks more aggressive than ich. In both cases you would want to treat all fish in the same system with Copper or CP (make sure they are not sensitive to the medication) and run fallow for ~76 days or more to remove ich if its present.

For FW dip, be careful, the max recommended time is 5 min, 15 min is too long.
Also stress does not cause ich or any other disease, stress will weaken the immune system which will give the parasite that already infest the fish (usually hidden in gills) to infest it even more and overwhelm it and start showing all over its body. Make sure to always quarantine to avoid this problem and spot the disease before the fish is added to DT.

From your statement after a freshwater dip he appeared worse I would have to say it is velvet.
Ich/Cryptocaryon Irritans will have similar white spots but they should only appear to have more after a few days from the particular parasites life cycle.
Velvet is more aggressive and overwhelms the fish fast.
Do you have any other fish in the tank? they will need to be treated too.
You won't need another tank for now but go to your hardware store and get at least a 50L container and some PVC elbows and treat with copper.

Cured? Although an ambiguous term, that would take at least 30 days in fully therapeutic doses of copper or CP.

I'm confused! Haha

Can you please share your treatment procedure. You want to continue medication for atleast 14 days, 30 days recommended, you cant cure velvet overnight. Note that if the white spots disappear that doesnt mean velvet is gone, or any other parasite for that matter.

Not cured. They may have dropped off as the life cycle proceeds. Bad part is get ready for the next attack. In my experience the second attack is more devastating then the first. I would get all fish into QT and ramp up copper over the next 24 hours or dose CP in QT.
