Hello,

I received my order from LiveAquaria and my fish looked free of parasites but after a few days I’ve noticed a single white spot on my flame angel.

What am I dealing with, what are my option?

Probably a spot where the mucous coat was rubbed a bit during shipping. But it could very well heal on it's own with great quality frozen & live foods + some vitamins like Zoecon or Selcon.
But I've also seen these go sideways on dwarf angels rather quickly. Consider giving the angel a 90 minute bath in an acriflavine product like Ruby Reef Rally. It's very gentle on the fish and has both antiseptic and antibiotic qualities.
Next step up would be antibiotics: NFG is my perferred for shipping damage/injury. Really works well on angels and butterflies.

I would also recommend adding Metroplex. I just went through a nasty bout of Uronema with a batch of flame angels. Several had spots that looked like yours in the early stages.

This should be done in a bare bottom QT.

What’s the smallest QT Tank I could get? I currently don’t have one

I would get a 20G or if you plan on bigger fish in the future get a 40G breeder

Is there any chance this could go away? The angel arrived 3 days ago.

If it helps with identification the spot is slightly raised up. Kinda looks like a zit on the fish.

This.
Most likely uronema...

Dang, well I ordered ruby reef rally and metroplex yesterday.

So I will make a QT add the metroplex and reef ralley and put the angel in for 60-90 minutes?

I’m not sold on Uronema yet, has the “pimple” turned into a red sore yet? When you get the Metro and the RRR get ready to dose it though.

No not at all, he’s eating well and acting very normal.
I’ll see if my wife can take a hi res photo with here big camera today after work and post the picture

When you get the Metro follow the directions except for dosage. When dealing with potential Uronema you will need to dose 2 scoops per 10G instead of 1 and make sure to include metro/focus into the food.

I see rock in your pics so I’m assuming he isn’t in a QT tank, what other fish are in with him and what size tank?

I went home at lunch and grabbed some more photos to help identify

Have you gotten him into a QT tank yet?

If you set up the qt now and seed it it will be ready when the meds come.
I’m getting my medic QT set this weekend.

Here are some better pics for ID, I’ve googled and searched the forum it doesn’t look like Uronema but I also am a total noob.

Also received my selcon today and gave it to the fish but man that stuff is pungent!! I have to keep it in a ziploc bag!

Yes, most of the vitamins that are really good for our fish are rather smelly. ;)

Lol then this must be amazing for them!

So any new thoughts on the spec with the new pics? I can’t find pictures of anything similar on the internet
