Noticed these today and I had a Powder Brown that died a few months ago when I got him with same thing. The Kole has been in tank for 2 weeks now and recently came out of hiding. He gets along with yellow tang & foxface with no issues who show no signs of anything.

You picture isn't showing up. Do you quarantine anything before it goes into the display tank?

Hit wrong button and posted too early!! Lol

Anyhow here are pics

Thanks, will try that tonight. Might need a glass of wine with the time it will take to catch him [emoji4]

Good luck! In regards to your comment about your LFS QT'ing their fish, I highly doubt they QT'd the fish to any hobby standard (30 days copper, 2 rounds prazi, etc).

I say that because for most LFS's, it's financially improbable to QT all incoming fish. Say they import 20 fish in a week and begin dosing copper (usually at half strength, NOT therapeutic levels), well the following week they just add more fish to that system resetting the 30 day copper requirement. Holding potential profits for that long typically becomes impossible to maintain.

It's not a bad practice, but I would never rely on the LFS's QT methods.

Agreed, never trust that your local fish store has quarantined anything. The only way to 100% ensure the fish has been quarantined and medicated is to do it yourself :)

Ok thanks guys and sorry for a delay in getting back!! The restaurant has been keeping me busy. Anyhow the spots went away!! Thought it was just a scab after getting him into qt. I left him in there for 4 days but then he played dead I guess so as soon as he went into display he darted around all happy!! He tricked me!! Silly tang! Lol

Yesterday he blew up with ick so back to qt and start of cupramine has begun.

Big ? Is, all other fish show no issues whatsoever. Could their slimecoates be keeping them safe? The kole is new but everyone else has been in for months. I also added a uv 3 weeks ago.

Looks like I may be dealing with ick management?
