White spots growing on Torch skeleton

Hi r2r - something weird is going on with the skeleton on my torch.

There are what look like white patches growing on it. Should I be worried?

If they are indeed growing I would suspect some type of sponges. Any chance you can get a brighter & closer picture? Best of luck :)

I think they are indeed sponges but like said above monitor, they shouldn't move lol. I have several in my sump that have this appearance. Best of luck :)
 
Ciliate or cotton sponge. Simply scrape off in a container of tank water before they cover the stem as calcium is a necessity for euphyllia and you dont want stem smothered
