I have just noticed some white spots on my glass, sump and back walls of DT & rocks. Bout to do my weekly tank maintenance should I remove them from DT?

Haven’t done a sump clean in awhile as evidently lol not really keen to do one unless required. I have peppermint shrimp in the DT and redline cleaner shrimp. No fish.

Thanks in advance!

Spirorbid worms. Harmless, filter feeding, non-stinging, but annoying to clean off glass, acrylic, and overflows.

Common and a nuisance as they plant themselves everywhere.
Remove with an old credit card

No they wont. Scrape and remove.

I'm getting something that looks very similar. They are starting to get all over my rock though! I don't know how I could scrap them off. They are getting everywhere! My great purple rock is going to turn all white... :( Is there anything else this could be or I can do? Thanks for any advise...

That last picture isn't Spirorbids, but I'm not sure what it actually is.

It resembles a barnacle, do they open and fan out?

If not, it's just the shell they grow to attach to the substrate, and will eventually grow coralline algae over it.

They will grow crazy on rocks. Horrible. Overflow piles. Pumps everywhere. How did you get it in there? Your tank is new
