Hi all,

I purchased this anemone roughly a week ago and it has stayed in the spot I originally placed it, it may have moved a small amount to the left but that’s it. It seems to have these white spots on a few of the tentacles, is this a bad sign? Could it be bleaching? My lights are 4 ai hydra 26HD as well as 4 T5’s blue plus/coral plus ATI bulbs. I run the T5 for 6 hours a day.

Whoops, a pic would help.

Oh and I know my Duncan is in bad shape.

It’s not a candy cane it’s just very retracted right now, unclear why. It’s a long tentacle anemone.

I had an LTA with a no name strip LED and 2 T5s. It did fine. My tank was 25"tall and the lights were about ~30 from the sand bed. So, your setup sounds like it should be fine. I am not familiar with anemones getting white spots but I thought bleaching occurred evenly across the tentacles. From the pic it looks like interesting colorations. Do you have a ~4"sand bed and is the LTA attached to the tank bottom? If so then good

Yeah bleaching shouldn't be in spots, the entire coral. if its bleaching in spots something else is wrong

Could they be flat worms ? Just a coloration thing possibly.

I’m no nem expert but I think it could just be natural coloration. My bubble tips have “flecks” in them too (not so great pic but you get the idea).

Thanks for the comments guys. I do have a deep enough sand bed and he’s been attached with his foot fully buried since I got it. Must be in good shape then!
