Sup guys I noticed my blue tang had white spots on it...no other fish in tank has white spots that I can see.....all fish eat and are happy ...fish do flash at times and run around tank...for no reason...

I have another post about my fish flashing and rubing against rocks about hour after dosing bright well neo nitrate and neo phos.. fish are fine before dosing it ..here's a picture and video of spots on tang .....
.I have reef medic and hand if I need to treat for ich....I don't think it's velvet because this has been going on for a while..also have a 40 watt pentair running on tank 20220823_193758.jpg 20220823_193753.jpg 20220823_193309.jpg 20220823_193306.jpg 20220823_193300.jpg 20220823_193259.jpg 20220823_193253.jpg

Unfortunately every time I turn the white lights on the blue tang hides in his cave it will not come out I'll keep trying to get a picture in white light sorry

Feed more. And when you think your feeding to much, feed more then that

Wow now I think I don't feed enough lol... Definitely will feed more
He looks like a thick healthy fish, just make sure your numbers are in place and nitrate and phos do not rise to much after feeding much more

I don't know that I would dose N and P directly, seems to me that heavier feeding will benefit the whole tank and bring up nutrients naturally.

Hey got some pictures and videos under white light here they are
Thank you for nice clear pictures. What I see are mucus spores associated with cryptocaryon - marine ich or even common on hepatus blue tangs known as idiopathic mucus plugs. often plugs just go away. Looking at eyes, fish does not appear to have flukes which is good. You can try a freshwater dip for relief but I dont believe treatment with copper will offer any advantage.
I would like a second opinion on this too . . @Jay Hemdal

Reef medic is a reef safe peroxide salt treatment for ich. It may or may not work but being what it is comprised of is low risk and you can therefore try it but dont expect much if it does not work

Trying to sort out ich from idiopathic mucus plugs isn’t always easy. The best thing to do is track some of the individual spots. If they change location day to day and change in numbers, it is probably ich. If the spots are in the same location for 36 hours, then it isn’t ich.
