I have a school of 5 Lyretail anthias in my 240. I’ve had 2 of them for about 6 weeks, and got 3 more last week. One of them has white spots on both sides of his head. I’m not sure if it’s disease or injury. Thoughts?

This is CD a bacterial issue and will need treatment in quarantine setting
Best bet is seachem neoplex or kanaplex.
what is ammonia-nitrate-ph level?
What test kits are you using?

Thanks! Nitrate is 9 according to Hanna, and PH is 8 according to my GHL probe. I haven't tested ammonia in a while, but the tank is fully cycled. I'm actually dosing Nitrate (and phosphate), to get them up.

I have kanaplex, and two QT tanks, although both are occupied. I have my doubts about whether or not I'll be able to catch the fish in the display tank. It's a big tank, with lots of rocks and a fair amount of coral too.
What is CD?

Is the fish still eating and breathing normally? If not, this may be Uronema, a common protozoan disease if newly acquired chromis, wrasse and anthias. It isn’t treatable though. If the fish is still eating and not breathing fast, then I would say this is bacterial.

Thanks. The last I saw the fish he was hiding on the bottom in a cave. Now I can’t find him anywhere. I think he’s a goner.
