White Spots On New Kole Tang

Hi guys. My new Kole Tang which I got from the Divers Den (Live Aqauria) has a bright white spot above left eye and one on temple. I cant show you any pictures right now as I am at work and my wife Face times me to should be. It does not, by what I could see the traditional White Spot disease, the one above the eye is very bright, looks raised and it about the size of the tip of ball point pen. The other is a little less bright and right on the temple.

Since I got her on Saturday she has been consistently fighting her reflection pretty aggressively and also darting in and out of rocks. I am wondering if it is an injury from that?

Not much info to go on at this time but wondering what you think.

Ok, so there's a couple of possibles for the white spots you are seeing.

Sometimes the fish get "sanded" by the plastic bags they are shipped in from the seller. Can give the fish a bath in methylene blue for 60-90 minutes. It helps with injuries and can also alleviate breathing issues from ammonia buildup during shipping that may have damaged the gills. Sometimes an infection can set in from this rough handling. A wide spectrum antibiotic would be good to have on hand. Watch for redness, growing white filmy area. Consider NFG powder (my go to for new fish), Furan2, Kanaplex, Sulfaplex to name a few good antibiotics that work.

The other possibility is the fish is displaying Lymphocystis. It's a virus much like the human herpes virus. This "condition" is brought on by poor water quality (shipping), stress, injury, etc. The cottony/fibrous spots will come and go throughout its life. You help by keeping in pristine water condition and feeding rich, nutrient foods the fit the fish's individual natural food sources.

Ok , good info! I’m hoping it’s the latter. My water quality is pretty good, and in fact I did a water change on Sunday. The fish is pecking in the rocks and back wall where there is Algae. I’ll feed nori tonight soaked in Garlic.
I will be home in about an hour and try to get some clear shots. FWIW he had no signs until my wife called this afternoon.

Ok I’m home, she is pecking on rocks, she is fighting herself less! I put nori in, she is pecking at that and on closer inspection the marks are actually her skin color just a bit lighter which leads me to beehive that are run marks for either the glass or bashing into a rock. Pics later, I want her to eat the nori first!
