I recently got this toadstool and it’s getting white spots. They started off small but are getting bigger. Should I worry?

What kind of lighting do you have?

Looks pretty bright to me, but pictures can be deceiving.

What's your water pramameters? Leathers like a little dirtier water.

Water is not dirty. Levels are good. Light is a LED fluval bar with app adjustments. I have it set to daylight and moonlight. 12 hours on 12 off with sunset and sunrise. But is totally adjustable.

"Dirtier" water is in reference to higher N03 and P04 than what some would keep their tanks at. Softies and leathers do better in higher levels.

Do you use RO/DI water for top off and salt mixing?

Always ro/di water. I was told that from the get go. Although it’s kind of costly I’m not concerned with a few extra bucks to keep everyone that can’t talk to me happy. Which is why I’m so concerned about a unhappy coral....

And I wanted to take the leap to saltwater mainly for coral. The fish are cool. But building and eco system and having a reef was the main thing for me. I have a pair of clownfish but that’s the only fish I have.

how long this tank has been established ? the rocks look like it had some brown algea from the light it show and this was too much light for softies i believe, should have lower the light abit to adjust the coral.
