Hiya, anyone know what these white spots on the back on my fishes tail ? Please say it's not ich! I dont have a quarantine tank as of yet

Looks like ich but that’s ok. Many people (including myself) don’t quarantine but rather focus on keeping the fish healthy. Focus on parameters and high quality foods and reduce stress, then the fishes immune system will naturally get rid of it. They may get a few spots from time to time but as long as you keep the tank healthy, the fish will be healthy too

Thank you for your help, I was slightly freaking out lol. These are my parameters.

ammonia looks a tad high. Try to work on nutrient export and maybe increase water changes a little until that goes down. Adding live rock and other bio media will help with ammonia.

FYI there’s some people who are hardcore when it comes to quarantining. Ultimately it depends on personal preference. I’ve never quarantined and only rarely run into problems

I would suggest short term to do what Murica described and work on immunity. Keep in mind that ich will stay in the water column and this could be an ongoing issue whenever you want to add another fish. QT and fallow would be suggested for a long term fix.

I bought the salifert test for ammonia that is in the 2nd photo as I herd you can get false positives with the api, would you say they were still high in the 2nd photo ? Thanks for your help I will do all this

No ammonia looks okay according to the salient test picture you posted.

You're dealing with ich for sure so read this thread about management of the parasite vs. eradications.

Good Luck!
