Just got a little female white spotted boxfish, she's beautiful but not eating anything I'm trying... Brine, nori, vitalis, marine seaweed flakes, live black worms, Cyclops, garlic marinated prawn meat, white bait... Any ideas?! I'm trying mysis in the morning and hatching some live bring eggs to try...

How long have you had her?
Live foods are generally best to get new arrivals eating anything, Brine, Pods, White worms and blackworms. but seems you know that
Clam on half shell is another good one to try, I also like Sallys reef plankton for smaller mouth fish.

This is her second day in the tank.. she showed a little interest in the black worm this morning but didn't eat anything... No interest in the pods either... Still waiting on the brine to hatch, they got a little cool last night

Still pretty new to the tank, she might take a little while more to get comfortable enough to start going after food.

Side note, you know we love pics ;Snaphappy let's see this wonderful addition you have:):)

Oh whoops I just noticed you are a new member here so you might not have known of our picture hungry nature. So secondly, WELCOME TO R2R!!!! @crabs_mcjones do your thing;)

Hi Rosey, I have a Longhorn Cowfish and it likes mysis shrimp, brine shrimp (both freeze dried and live), Nutramar Ova, Reef Frenzy, and Nori. Hope this helps. It can be hard getting them to eat, but once they start it's easy.

Hoping for the best!

Thanks everyone, I hope she eats soon.. I've had a bad run with fish not eating for me lately, my snowflake didn't eat for a month when I got her and it's taken 3 months to get her eating from the tweezers -_-.. here's a picture of my new baby; Popcorn

a few days to a week isn't unusual for a new fish to adjust to a new tank. I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of eating at this point.

Day 5 in the tank, still not eating anything and sadly she's developed white spot she just spends all day pacing the left side of the tank... I put a towel over that side to discourage so now she paces the front and back corner... I can't think of anything else I can do! Every day I'm offering live black work, brine, mysis, nori on a rock... Just put some 2 day old baby brine in there and 0 interest again... Nothing is harassing her in the tank and parameters all sitting well.

Finally she's started to eat the nori! Already put back on a bit of Weight but the white spot is pretty bad... She showed interest in black worm this morning but it stopped moving just before she ate it and she lost interest -_-. I'm debating a fresh water bath to help the white spot but I don't want to stress her.. advice would be greatly welcomed.

One of my favorite fish on the reef- glad she’s eating for you. maybe @Humblefish can help you treat the white spot. When you say white spot do you mean ich or velvet or are you not sure?

I could be wrong but I don’t know if a fw dip helps with ich, pretty sure it only helps with flukes? But @Humblefish will know way better than me!

It's ich, not sure where I could get a clam in the shell though... Looks like a trip to the Asian fish market is in store. Thank you pbh-reef for the advice

No problem - and in that case check out the threads on ich and quarantine in the fish disease forum. It will give you good advice about what medicine to have on hand and copper test kits. You could also try the tank transfer method (Ttm) if you have the equipment, there is a thread on that too.

I’ve never kept a boxfish so this is more
General advice than experience talking!
