I've started dosing lanthanum chloride about 6 months ago, does magical things to control my po4 at an acceptable level. Only caveat is that it leaves a thin film of white staining on the aquarium glass, tried to clean it with blades and erasers, it didn't really help. For those that are curious, I dose right into the skimmer chamber over 24 intervals of small amount daily. Anyone share the same experience? Interested to see how you go about fighting the stain, really don't want to give up this great product, dosing thru a 5 micro filter sock is also not viable because it gets clogged up too quickly, water would overflow so it defeats the whole purpose. Thank you in advance!;)

The white staining might be from the flocculent your supposed to be catching in a filter sock. I've never dosed directly to the tank, but have done it in barrels for dry rock. All that flocculent has to go somewhere.

the sump area, I can't use a 5 micron bag be

Do you use 5 micron sock to catch residuals? Interested to hear your method of dosing. :)

I've only used LC on dry rock in barrels, so no I had no need to catch the flocculent. I have read several threads on dosing it into the tank, and every one doses into a filter sock to catch the flocculent.

I have lanthanum chloride on the way as a new diamond goby has done its job cleaning my sand bed and while doing so, my nitrates have risen to 60 from 12-16, and PO4 has risen from .05-.1 to .292.
I am going to try it after watching a video from @melev (melevs reef on you tube).
@melev , you have been using I believe Phosphate Rx for years........straight into a high flow area when dosing. Do you have any issues with the glass on you tank? Thank you for helping us out.......Mike
