White strings coming out of acro polyps at night

So I have 3 colonies I got from a trusted source that now have white strings coming from the polyps of 3 colonies, mostly at night but during the day also on the PC Rainbow. Any ideas? Could it be acro crabs? I have looked intensely at night but do not see any spider like creatures just the white strings from the polyps. Any help or advice is welcomed.

Probably stress filaments. Any other acros in tank?

Numerous other acros. none have shown any symptoms. Only the PC appears to have any bleaching from it but still has polyps out on unaffected tissue. And the bleaching tissue is not dead but looks poorly.

Acros came from a Zeovit tank that the person let fall into lack of care. These acros were brown and almost dead when I got them but all have colored up fairly well and have started new growth even with this issue. I do not run Zeovit but am using Aquaforest products and have seen great response in all other acros and corals from there use over the last 3-4 months. These affected acros have been in the tank for over 2 months.

They arnt just feeding?

Possibly feeding but have never seen this before and the white string only come out of some of the polyps of each acro affected.

Hard to know without pics, perhaps they were starving in the zeovit system and your seeing "feeder filament," I don't know what there called....

They are likely mesenterial filaments used for feeding or defense. The pic is an acro feeding.

About 50% of my coral get this when I feed coral frenzy I take it as a good thing.

Funny. When I first started seeing my corals do that, I thought something was going horribly wrong.

I feed a mix of frozen foods (LRS Reef Frenzy, Mysis, Cyclopeeze) and dry foods (Reef Chili, Reef Roids). My favias have so much polyp extension when they feed, that it looks like they're turning inside out.

I used to feed coral frenzy twice a week and would see a bit more polyp extension. Oyster feast and aquavitro fuel have redefined polyp extension for me.

yeah I use Oyster feast too. Must be the trigger.

That pic I posted was me feeding the tank PE Mysis.................I don't sift the juice out..............that's the best part for the acros.

No if you check my 3rd post they were brown with tissue loss and nearly dead before I got them. Surprised the PC and the Miami orchid lived.

Trusted source as in I truly did not think they would possibly carry pests, which apparently they didn't.
